Old Palace Chamber Choir was invited to perform with Whitgift School singers in their Spring Concert in the Royal Festival Halls at the end of last term.
The students in Chamber Choir had solo parts to sing in a performance of movements from Karl Jenkins’ ever-popular Adiemus accompanied by the Whitgift Strings with members of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Sixth Form students Grace and Bonnie were also performing with Whitgift Chamber Orchestra and RPO in Glazunov’s Violin Concerto and Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony.
Zandile, Ria, Zaynah, Lara, Sophie and Ellen, who are all Croydon Minster Choristers sang
with the Minster choir in Parry’s I Was Glad and Walton’s Coronation Te Deum. This was a
very exciting evening of music making and a fantastic opportunity to perform on one of the
world’s great concert platforms.
